If Our Tree Could Talk

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk to the leaves
Asking why they had to leave
In the middle of summer
Leaving with no trace/shade

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the pain
Of us stepping on it’s roots,
And the hurt you put me through
It’ll explain about the pain of being in love

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the tears
I’ve shared for you
The one’s you called just salt water
And the one’s I tried to hold back.

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the love
We shared when the sun was up
How fragile and strong it is
And also how dangerous it can be

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the fate
That kept us together for years
That made you blind and me stupid.
Keep holding on in a ship that sank

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the kisses
That were always shared
Even when the skies where grey
Till our lips were numb

If our tree could talk
It’ll talk about the beauty
Of us being together
Of the hugs that makes us weak
And the eyes of pure love

If our tree could talk
It’ll say nothing last forever
That’s why i have to change my leaves every season
And only strong hearts can substain love
For true love isn’t just a rain that makes us grow‘.
